What if there was a way that you could feel confident as a senior actuarial leader?

In the GA Senior Leadership Program, you will learn how to:

✔ Articulate your vision to inspire and motivate your team,

Introducing the GA Senior Leadership Program for experienced actuaries

The program follows a similar format to the GA Leadership Program, with small groups of up to 10 participants, across different companies over a 3-month period.

The program includes self-paced modules, activities and group reflections, a personal project and a workplace resilience session. Your group will meet weekly on Zoom to practise and reflect on the suite of modern leadership skills you’ll be building throughout the program.

Is this program for you?

The Guardian Actuarial Senior Leadership Program is designed specifically for actuaries wanting to build a suite of modern leadership skills to be successful senior leaders.

This program is for you if you are an actuary who wants to:

✔ Prepare for a senior leadership role

✔ Build skills to be more effective in your senior leadership role

✔ Break through obstacles preventing your next promotion

✔ Gain clarity on who you are and your purpose at work

✔ Learn with a cohort of other high–performing actuaries

Why did you enrol in the program?

“Returning from parental leave, I was keen for a reset. I now place a greater value on a more meaningful and purposeful work life. I enrolled in the GA Senior Leadership Program to clarify that purpose, set a course for the next few years, and build up the confidence to express my views in the workplace and our industry.”

Jess Hamby,
2024 Program Participant

Great senior leadership looks like this

The GA Senior Leadership Program follows on from the GA Leadership Program. The curriculum and learning outcomes have been carefully designed, reviewed and refined by 12 senior actuaries to help you learn the essential skills to be an effective and successful senior leader.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • I can articulate my values, purpose and what I want to be known for in my career.

  • I can articulate my team’s vision and purpose.

I know my preferred thought leadership style and format, and I have a plan about what to deliver over the next 12 months.

  • I know my preferred negotiation style and feel confident using this to secure support for my ideas.

  • I can identify, engage and communicate with wider stakeholders using a range of techniques.

  • I know how to motivate teams and prioritise the workload.

I have a clearly defined operating rhythm for my team and I can identify and articulate the styles and needs of my team members.

  • I have strategies and tools to manage risks and ethical dilemmas at work.

  • I feel confident with my own suite of tools to prepare for, participate and chair a range of meetings.

  • I have a clear approach to help me plan and feel confident to deliver presentations to my team, my wider organisation and beyond.
